This is where your options are really wide open. We can provide all manner of glazing solutions for all types of requirements.
Whether you want to conserve energy, reduce noise or simply obscure an area, there is a glazing solution just for you.
Our windows are glazed with 28mm double-glazed sealed units, and our roofs with 24mm double-glazed sealed units. Below are just some of the glazing solutions to some of our more common problems - explained in its simplest terms. If you require additional information on any of these products or require something a little different, simply contact us and we can point you in the right direction.
A-Rated Units
This is our standard double-glazed unit fitted to all our new windows and doors where required. The unit comprises two pieces of 4mm glass with a 20mm gap. The gap is filled with argon gas and the two pieces of glass have a coating designed to reflect the heat created within the property back in to the rooms. The spacer bar that separates the two pieces of glass is now "warm-edge" which is more thermally efficient than the old aluminium version, meaning overall it is harder for the warmth inside to travel through to the outside of the unit and subsequently, the cold from outside to inside, meaning a vast reduction in condensation forming on the inside of the windows.

Glass for Strength & Safety
If it's strength or safety you're after, then glass can be toughened or laminated glass can be chosen. We have extensive knowledge of the Building Regulations where toughened safety glass is concerned, but a basic rule of thumb is that glass must be toughened if:
In a door
Within 300mm of a door
Less than 800mm from the finished floor level
In a roof
The square metreage of the glass is greater than 2.5 square metres
There are other situations where toughened safety glass would be advised. We pride ourselves on good practice, and would inform you of any scenario that we consider to require the added strength of toughened safety glass.
Laminated Glass
Laminated glass has a laminated film in between two sheets of glass. If broken, the glass holds itself together ensuring no sharp pieces of glass fall out. Laminated glass is extremely difficult to break. It usually comes in 6.4mm thickness, but other thicknesses are available.
