Doors & Windows (Exeter) Limited have carried out many larger scale projects for commercial properties, Letting Agents and Property Management companies.
Over the last 12 months we have carried out work on commercial properties which can be seen below.
The first photo is a student flat accommodation and for this we were asked to manufacture, supply and fit over 230 secondary glazing units. As with all older properties this was not quite as easy as first thought. Almost every window in the building was a different size and so each secondary unit had to be made to different specifications, to make sure that the secondary units did the job that they are meant to do. The client also asked us to make sure that within each of the 35 flats some of the windows had openings whilst other windows could be covered with a sealed unit which did not open.
The next photo is of some aluminium frontage to a doctors surgery here in Exeter. The aluminium doors were to be sourced by Doors and Windows. The whole frontage came in three sections with the two side fixed pane windows and the set of automatic opening sliders in the middle making up the three. These doors were being put into a newly developed building and so we needed to make sure we were in contact with all relevant parties. The builders, the client, the manufacturers, and the company who provided and installed the automatic opening equipment. With that many different parties involved in the project it was important to make sure that the communication channels were open at all times to make sure that the doors were ready to be installed at the right time. Also involved in this project for Doors and Windows was the roof lantern that can be seen above the doors. This sits over the reception area to add light and a feeling of space, and with the opening vent seen on the front some welcome fresh air during the summer months.. This was input in grey PVCu and had a self cleaning coating added to the glass.
Finally the bottom three pictures show of our most recent commercial project. We were asked to quote for two PVCu frames with aluminium doors to be input outside of a roller shutter at a commercial units just outside of Exeter. The unit involved has 4 roller shutters (the size of the opening seen below) with the factory inside at one end using two which were not to have the new windows installed. The inside of the other two were where the office sit and without any other natural light coming into the building apart from a couple of small windows on the side the client wanted to be able to open up the shutter all year round thus requiring the windows and doors to be installed. The top two corner windows were added to be opening so that during the summer months these could be opened to allow a continuous flow of air into the building. Rather than have the normal side casement windows these were manufactured to be tilt and turn window which gives the client more choice when opening the windows. Following completion of the installation the client was pleased with how good they looked.
We are ideally suited to liase with tenants and residents to offer a program of work that will suit them.
